Dr. Jorge Morales

Dr. Morales has served the EMUSHD community for over 25 years. Working as an instructional aide, resource teacher, teacher of social science, Assistant Principal of Activities, Assistant Principal of Student Services, Assistant Principal of Instruciton, and now Principal of South El Monte High School Dr. Morales has dedicated his life to serving students and families in our community. Dr. Morales considers himself a lifelong learner and encourages students, parents, and teachers to seek every opportunity to grow.

Mrs. Olga Lopez, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Lopez has proudly served the EMUHSD community for 30 years. Over that time she has dedicated her life to serving students in the areas of Activities, Student Services, and Instruction. Mrs. Lopez is a proud community member of South El Monte. She lives in the community, serves on the PTSA, and had her sons attend and graduate from SEMHS.

Mrs. Lorrie Briones

Mrs. Briones has served the EMUHSD community for over 18 years. Serving as the Special Education Department Chair, Mrs. Briones focused on supporting students with special needs, nurturing their growth and empowering them to overcome challenges. Now, Mrs. Briones serves as an Assistant Principal where she can continue to help serve the families within our community.

Ms. Renee Tellez

With nearly 20 years of teaching experience spanning elementary through college-level instruction, Ms. Tellez has served in both Special Education and General Education roles. Her extensive experience includes serving as department chair, mentor teacher, curriculum pilot lead, and active collaborator within educational communities. Known for her leadership, dedication to equity, and strong student advocacy, she brings a holistic and inclusive approach to education. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Ms. Tellez holds a B.A. in Child Development and Special Education and a Master’s in Education.
