    At SEMHS, preparing students for the future includes fostering the responsible and ethical use of emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI). We are committed to equipping students with the digital literacy, critical thinking, and ethical understanding needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.     At South El Monte High School, nearly half of our students participate in the Early College Academy, a dual-enrollment partnership with Rio Hondo College that allows students to earn college units while earning their high school diploma. Our nationally recognized AVID program continues to lead efforts in advancing college and career preparedness.

    Our Career Technical Education pathways include financial services, athletic trainers in sports medicine and healthcare, machine and forming technologies, and Dual Enrollment carpentry with LA Trade Tech college. These programs integrate real-world experiences and 21st-century skills, ensuring our graduates are ready to lead in high-demand industries.
